Over the many projects I have worked on, prototypes have been an evolutionary catalyst in taking the initial ideas on through to product realization. In a graduate course that I developed for NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, I emphasize that prototyping is a skill learned through practice but more importantly, a way of thinking. From initial ideas and dialogue on through sketches and models, I encourage my students to take great risks at low cost, expose critical challenges and express complex interactions in simple forms. The images above are from student work, their blogs > and more information can be found in the prototyping blog I keep, Pencils Polymer and Pixels.
